Report Shows Large Number of Veterans are Exposed to Asbestos
Asbestos is a kind of insulating material used years ago, between 1930 and 1980. The said material is frequently use due to its many benefits such as high heat resistant, good durability and cost effective. But asbestos was found out after years of using it that once it is disturbed or destroyed it can emit toxins that can cause aggressive illnesses such as mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that typically attacks the thin lining of the lungs, heart and abdomen of the patient.
A recent report from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs shows that large numbers of veterans who served the country have been exposed with this deadly carcinogen — Veterans who work on naval vessels since old Navy vessels and other sectors of the Military uses asbestos as its main form of insulation.
That is why many of the veterans who work in naval and military sectors, are routinely exposed to asbestos without even knowing or realizing its danger.
