City Leader Fight Against Mesothelioma
A city leader of Rancho Palos Verdes, California John McTaggart died at the age of 79 due to cancer caused by asbestos — mesothelioma.
McTaggart served as two decade councilman and a four time Mayor in Rancho Palos Verdes. He was diagnosed by mesothelioma last April 2007. According to his widow, Flo, McTaggart tried both chemotherapy and radiation therapy to fight this aggressive cancer. But like other mesothelioma patients McTaggart failed.
Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that attacks the thin lining of the lungs, heart and abdomen and as of these days there are no really strong treatments to cure this aggressive cancer.
